Giant, amorphous sweaters were made with me in mind. Not only are they warm and forgiving of my food babies, they create such an interesting proportional illusion. I love playing with simple lines and shapes, so much more than fussy things like bling and tassels and froufrou details. It's almost February- I know this "cozy" concept has been done to death in the Blogosphere by now but IT IS. Some days (Sundays in particular), I just want to go about my business still feeling like I'm wrapped up in bedding. It doesn't do much for my productivity, but it's so damn cozy SNUG.

And I'm not wearing sweatpants and Uggs.

SO I CAN EXPLAIN

I've been away forever largely due to 1. too much holiday cheer and 2. my ancient Sony Vaio has developed dementia and short-circuits whenever I try to save photos. It's made me especially ornery and I apologize.

 Today I was cut from work a solid 4 hours early due to the Great Cleveland Blizzard '12, and we had exactly $0 hours after opening. So I came home,stuffed my face, and worked on a way to get around the black hole of misery that is my laptop. IT WORKED. So, there's that. I can't promise it wasn't a fluke, but I promise I will try to never, ever leave you alone like that again. You are fragile. 

I have the weekend off, bitches! What are YOU doing?

What warrants a new post more than new shoes? I got these for shamefully cheap the other day and I think they're kind of amazing. Christmas money spent well.

Re: Christmas, I hope everyone had a good one! My family will be celebrating on Saturday, New Year's Eve, and then I suppose I'll go out and pretend to be social and interesting.

For the first installment of what I hope to be many weekly link roundups, I wanted to share some thing I've found via much more beautiful and fashionable ladies.  

These things are not me. I don't sparkle and I don't wear much jewelry. But I love them, and I love looking at them. I would wear all of this stuff to the pretend holiday party that my imaginary fans have invited me to. And then banned from for next year's, because I drink too much.

My wardrobe predictability is a curse. If it's not from Urban Outfitters, H&M, Forever 21, or American Apparel, then I probably don't own it. Maybe one day I'll accept the boatloads of freebies that designers are clamoring to have me feature, but I just keep turning them down because I'm so indie and underground and I don't want to look like a sellout. 

I'm gonna bury my head in this cardigan like an ostrich and never come out. Apparently it's some sort of cold weather season.

I might have mentioned a few dozen times before that I hate the cold. So much so that I couldn't even suck it up long enough to go outside without a coat for ten minutes for some photos. So white-walled apartment it is.

My witch boots + sweater tights = favorite winter staples, although today, the zipper on my favorite coat busted, so I'll re-arrange my priorities briefly. Any links to some bad-ass yet affordable coats would be much appreciated!

I just got home from New York yesterday and I have a ton of little snapshots to sift through from my trip. Mostly inconsequential, undeserving things: my third Bellini at Yaffa, a guy with a cane, and this lady on the plane who thought both the arm rests PLUS my seat were hers. Riveting stuff.
